N.Q.Z.C. by Wayn Traub
from November 07th to 10th, 2007 at 08:30pm THEATRE DE LA VILLE

Wayn Traub has been an associated artist with the Toneelhuis Theatre in Antwerp since 2002 and has become famous for his "ritualistic" theatre pieces articulated on astonishing maze-like narratives. His new creation "Arkiologi", preceded by several months of research lab work, goes one notch further in its liberation from the traditional techniques of the theatre. Within an aesthetic frame combining the mediaeval and the futuristic, Wayn Traub presents a collective dream involving four characters. It is a kind of choreography of the senses, where the usual divisions set by our perceptions are constantly undermined by the Unconscious as drama.

"Once upon a time" by Storm
from November 5th to 10th, 2007 at CND

The expression, in every language and all over the world, sets the tone: "Once upon a time". The magical formula immediately drags us in a litterary genre: fairy tale. Storm created this new creation, a franco-german project resulting from a partnership between MOOV’N AKTION, association dedicated to the development of the Hip-Hop culture, the Hebbel am Ufer theatre in Berlin and the CND in Paris / Pantin.

Through out dance, music and video, the berlin choregrapher uses our fairy tales' collective imagination to create a contemporary fable. 4 interpreters form Berlin and 2 parisian dancers are invited to the creation adventure and spend some time in residence in both countries. They are joined in every town by a group of amateur children and adolescents. The goal is to show youngsters how to blend in today's society leveraging artistic group work. This integration method, federated by the german choregrapher, is also betting on european cultural exchanges. This way, mondern fairy tales may allow anyone to entrust their dreams. text by Irène Filiberti

Interpreted byHassan Akkouch, Mehdi «Spirit» Baki, Louis Becker, Rainer Laumann, Mustapha «Darwin» Lehlouh, Abraham «Abby» Marte and a Seine-Saint-Denis children group.
